I am attending a course given by Michael A. Podolinsky and one of his statement I think is interesting. He says about this point system in husband and wife: Husband bring wife to restaurant for a good dinner - the husband think the wife will give him 1 point, and the wife actually give him 1 point Husband bring wife to Phuket for a holiday trip - the husband think the wife will give him 10 points and the wife actually give him 1 point Husband buy a big diamond to his wife and he think the wife will give him 100 points, but his wife actually give him 1 point In other scenerio that change from the above, Husband not bring wife to restaurant for a good dinner, the wife will deduct 1 point for it Husband not bring wife to Phuket for holiday trip, the wife not deduct 1 point, but 10 points for it Ehhh.....this sound like not a fair game, does it? But I dont think many will apply this kind of point system in relationship.
Today is the first practice session for the first ever night F1 race in the world, which is held at Singapore. I am planning to go Funan City or Suntec City to have a walk on electronic thing. When I come out of City Hall MRT, I heard the car racing sound, it is quite loud. I can merely saw the F1 car pass thru also. After Funan stop, am planning to Suntec, but then the route is close and I have to walk quite a long way. But, at last, I stop at the end junction to watch F1 race, which is just 50 meter from my view. First ever experience watching F1. Most of the car, when slowing down, has the pik pak pik pak sound, but McClaren does not have that big sound, very smooth. Is that make the different class?? Too bad, I didnot bring my camera, as I didnot expect I have a chance to watch F1 without any ticket.
As usual, I off work at about 5.30pm to go to JB. The journey is quite smooth, until Kranji MRT station. The queue is long, but I manage to get in the 3rd bus and have a seat. The teribble thing start from here. Once the bus boarded to have a U-turn to Woodland, the opposite vehicle is so much, and force all buses to wait for U-turn. There is a nice taxi driver stop his car and let the buses U-turn first, but he cause another long queue to the road. I arrive at Woodland checkpoint at 7pm, and what a suprise to me, the checkpoint is flooded with people, the queue is until the staircase. The reason, only 5 counters open on the super peak hour, instead of 10. I guess there are more then 5000 people in the checkpoint. I am so 'impress' on Singapore government to handle such a day. It cause me 2 hours waiting in the checkpoint. Because of this also, the bus traffic also jammed due to those factory bus and van waiting for their customer. What a day for my journey to JB. But I hope this record will last as long as possible. I dont want to have another tiring journey.
My on-the-job training at Taiwan end on 09012008. Me and Kwok Wai will take the 6.15pm flight back to Singapore. We go to the office in the morning and left at 2pm, back to hotel. The company already arrange agent to take us to airport at 3pm from hotel, and he is driving a mercedes benz, another time sit in a comfort luxury car. 1 month pass so fast, I still have a lot of places have not visit yet. Nevermind, leave it to the next time. :) Boarding to the SQ flight at 6.15pm and we are leaving Taiwan officially. The plane is not may people. On the plane, the final terminal to land is not yet confirm, because Singapore officially open it Terminal 3 today. We only know it at about 10pm that we will land in the newly build T3. I am so lucky to be the first batch of people to view the T3 in the first day. Arriving time, the carpet is so soft, the smell of paint is still there. The merchandize is not much yet, and it is close at that time, because it is already 11pm. The clearing is good, and it come to the luggage belt area. I am waiting for my luggage, while other luggages claimed by the owner. 1 of my luggage come out, and another 1 more. Kwok Wai already ready with his luggage and waiting together with me. The luggage is lesser and lesser, only left about 5, and the electronic board signal last luggage is on the belt. Oh gosh...where is my another luggage, which has fragile sticker? Not to be give up, as there is 2 more luggage on the belt, hope that someone will come back and say that he/she took the wrong luggage, I saw a women and her kid, taking down the last 2 luggages, and what a surpirse, another luggage come out from the belt. It is my luggage, what a relief....... That's end my first experience waiting my luggage in a mood that my luggage is missing.
18042008, Friday, it is the Asian Badminton Championship quarter final which held at Johor Bahru City Stadium. The quarter final entrance fee is RM20. It is 5.45pm and I quickly finished off my tasks and packed my beg to head to JB for this championship. The bus come at 6pm, and I only arrive at MRT station at 6.25pm. When the time I reach Kranji, it is already 7pm, arrgh...promise Teng to be JB at 7pm, siao liao lo.... 7.20pm, reach Woodland checkpoint and the queue is quite long. I am lucky because I queue up at a fast queue. It is just 10 minutes to settle about 40 persons. 170 also has long queue, but the bus is keep on coming also. I manage to board the bus at 2nd attempt, the last to squeeze into the bus..haha..lucky me. 7.40pm, reach JB, wa....not so bad, very smooth. Teng and Miko already waiting there, so paiseh....She faster drive to the stadium and found that all cars park along the road side, so many cars. We finally decide to park at City plaza car park and cross the road to stadium. A lot of cars driving in high speed along the road, so dangerous.....but no choice.... I cross the road first, because I am too brave. :p Luckily not kena knock down by motor. While waiting both of them to cross the road, guess what, I saw Candra Wijaya, the Indonesia double specialist, walk pass me. You know what, I call him Sigit when I saw him, what a shame......Sigit is his x-partner. Walau...no wonder he just smile and walk pass me. When we enter the stadium, there are a few more players we saw also, He Han Bin, Yu Yang, Koo Kien Keat, Tan Boon Heong...The Malaysia golden pair get a lot of attraction, lots of people queueing up to take photo with them. There are so many people in the stadium, almost full. We sit at the ladder, and it is Meow Choo and Hafiz in action. There are 4 courts is on games. Lin Dan play at the far corner with Meow Choo beside them. Hafiz play near where we sit and Boonsak beside them. I saw Hafiz play a good game, making Sony to dive left and right to take the shuttle. But then I feel that Hafiz is playing a show game, which lead him to many simple mistakes. Malaysian today at action: Meow Choo vs Wang Lin, Hafiz vs Sony, Chong Han vs Chen Jin, Tan Fook-Wan Wah vs Ji Man-Jae Jin, Kien Keat-Boon Heong vs Zakry-Fairuz. The result, only Kien Kiat-Boon Heong get pass the opponent to enter semi final. What a disappointed result for supporter like me. Non of the Malaysian can win other country players today. The game end at about 11pm. Saturday semi final, is better to just sit at home and watch it in front of TV. Not worth to pay money and watch Malaysian lost without giving a fight.
She booked the Leo Foo Village (六福村)ticket online (http://www.leofoo.com.tw/village/), which cost us NT599 per person, compare to NT880 per person if buy at counter. We rush to Leo Foo Village from Sun Moon Lake. We miss the direct bus from sun moon lake to Tai Zhong, so we took the bus to Pu Li. When arrive at Pu Li, we miss the bus again after we step down from bus, but the bus driver very good, ask us where we want to go and pick us again. He ask us to take Tai Zhong taxi, which just cost us NT150, and we took it. After reach Tai Zhong, there are quite a few options to go Leo Foo Village, but no direct bus. We took the bus to Long Tan (龙潭、), NT180/person. This journey took us 2 hours ride. At Long Tan, we took another bus to Leo Foo Village, another NT50/person. 1.30pm, finally we arrive at Leo Foo Village, but then she just print out 1 ticket and we need to wait at customer service for the confirmation. Since they cannot check at that time, they decide to let us in first, and I surrender my passport to them. The Leo Foo village is quite big, seperate to few theme, Arabian, Africa, Western US and zoo. I enjoy some of the games there, but 2 of the most exciting games, I dare not to play. hehe... The village close at 6pm, but we need to catch the 5.25pm bus back to HsinChu, so we come out at 5.25pm. We consider finish the whole Leo Foo village. While waiting the bus, a taxi driver approach us and offer us NT100/person for the trip. At first we still thinking, but they mention the bus fare is NT92, so we decide to take it. Another 2 girls take the taxi offer with us, they go to Hsin Chu High Speed Train Station. Normally the taxi fare is NT800 per car. The uncle offer us because he want to goes back home for dinner. What a lucky day. Photos already uploaded, so I just link it to *here*
Visited Sun Moon Lake (日夜潭) on 5th Jan 2008. 10.20am take bus from HsinChu station to Tai Zhong (台中), it cost us NT140 per trip and 2 hours ride. So slow. The nearest bus to Sun Moon Lake is 1pm, so we have our simple lunch at Tai Zhong. 1pm take direct bus to Sun Moon Lake, it cost us NT200 and another 2 hours of ride, wa........Arrive at Sun Moon Lake already 3pm, unexpected late....We should come out earlier if we know the case. Once arrive, we go to rent a motorcycle, which cost us NT500 per day. Without delaying, as the sun will set at about 6pm, we start our round lake journey. Took some pictures around the lake side, and of course, the sunset picture. The night fall and we just ride pass half the lake, it is so cool riding in motorcycle. We decide to finish our round lake trip, and finally we check in our motel (民宿)at 7pm. We pre-book the motel, full house (浪漫满屋, http://www.full-house.com.tw/), which each room has different theme. We book the 1 cost us NT2850. This motel locate at a place call 鱼池, about 10 minutes motor ride from sun moon lake. After bath, we went back sun moon lake for the night view and take our dinner. It is so cool in the night, especially u r riding a motor. We back to motel at about 10pm, and the night is so peace, not much people at night. The next day, we decide to c the sun rise, we ride to the best place to c the sun rise at 6am. But at the end, we didnot c the sun rise, as we plan to take the earliest bus to leo foo village, at 7.25am. The sun is blocked by the mountain and the sun rise only at about 7.20am. We saw it when we ride toward sun moon lake to return the motor and take bus. When we arrive again at sun moon lake, the bus just drive pass, and we miss it. So we have no choice and take another bus to Pu Li (浦里), cost us NT54 per person. And the choice is correct, as Pu Li got a lot of bus to Tai Zhong. The bus driver know we are going to Tai Zhong and recommend us to take long distance Taxi, which cost us NT150/person only. So cheap and only take 1 hour ride. That conclude our Sun Moon Lake trip, what a rush trip. Opps..forgot to upload my photos....btw, i am lazy, so since my partner upload already, I no need to upload la.....here is the *photos* ...
Not yet a month here, I have been squeeze until the limit.... It has been so long time I never stay at company until 11.30pm, and it happen to me today, just to finish few tasks which due in next week. Actually, I can go back early, but considering taxi pool with another colleague, who is more pity then me, need to support on weekend somemore, so I just stay to complete as much as possible my task on hand....I want to celebrate new year at Taipei 101!!!

We plan to visit HsinChu city this weekend. Our first destination is plan to 18 peaks mountain park. We plan to walk there, for stop over some places to take photo. The park is actually quite far from the hotel we stay, and we everyday also pass it when we go to office by the shuttle provided by hotel. Look at the map below (my hotel is in center and the park is at south): At first, we are walking to the wrong direction and arrive at Cheng Huang Temple. So no choice, we walk back to the other direction. Along the way, we pass Tong Ning Temple, Church and visited the Municipal Windy City Vision Hall. The name seem like direct translate from Chinese. This hall show about the future of HsinChu city, some historical building in HsinChu and top scenes of HsinChu area. After that, we pass by Confucius Temple, which is a school now, I guess is primary school. We continue to walk along Boai Road and pass Stadium, Fu Te Temple, National Chaio Tung University before arrive at our destination, the 18 peaks mountain park. We tought this park has 18 peaks mountain, but we didnot saw it, what a disappointed for walking so far. This park is serve as a morning walk park for HsinChu people, with some music along the path. It is already pass 12pm and we walk pass the park to come out at Baoshan road, another entry point for the park. Another park in our view, 高峰植物园. We decide to pay a visit to this park as well. Not much thing can we catch as well, as we not relly interested at the plantation. We saw some bee in the bee nursery farm, and bread tree, but no flower at all. It is already almost 1pm, and we wanna go to Ku Chi Peak. We settle our lunch at Gaofsui road. After lunch, we visited Ku Chi Peak, and it has a lot of statues inside, including a big (120 meter) Kuan Yu statue (I hope I am correct). I snap a lot of photos here. After Ku Chi Peak, we plan for our last destination, Green Grass Lake. We walk along the unknow road, and it is very long. We are so tire, I think we walk for half an hour in this road before we reach Green Grass Lake. What a disappointed, as the lake does not has water at all, just grass. Walau...We pay a visit to 在水一方 for tea break before calling taxi to go back to our hotel. It is 4.30pm when we arrive at hotel. At night, we went to Cheng Huang Temple for dinner, a lot of choice there and crowded. We order HsinChu famous, Gong wan Mee Hoon (贡丸米粉) and Or Ah Chien (蚵仔煎). We also order chicken roll. After dinner, we buy taiwan popiah for supper also. I also buy the 冰糖葫芦。 Before forget, we saw Giordano has sales, and I bought myself a long pant, NT699. We also walk to Mega (another shopping mall) in Xida road for leisure walking after the dinner. That is the discovery of today, and tomorrow we will discover the sea side of HsinChu.
It is Tuesday, and I am as usual, went to office at the morning. Today is a farewell lunch for previous colleague, which I never saw him before, Triston. After the lunch, it is already 1.15pm and I am going home, to take my luggage for another island hopping activity. :p 3pm, unexpected so early, I tot i will be late to check in, i saw the departure list and found that my flight isn't going to my destination, check this out, SQ28. No choice, I still walk to the check in counter and check in. It is 3.30pm, we went in the departure hall, and take a seat for tea break. The A380 just outside of our view. The airport is decorated with Xmas tree, is a sign of Xmas season. After 4.5 hours flight, which I finish the star dust movie, finally I landed safely in this island. Ya, welcome to Taiwan. This airport is Tao-Yuen airport, and my final destination will be HsinChu, which is 1 hour drive from Tao-Yuen. Taking our luggage... A mercedes benz fetch us to our hotel, SOL hotel (http://www.solhotel.com.tw). My room is a single deluxe room...
It has been a week in this tiny island. As some of you might not know, I had done island hopping last week. Here is totally a different life. No need to drive car, but have to take MRT and bus to work. The MRT is so pack in the morning, and I have to change MRT (if miss the direct 1), which I might not able to squeeze in. The bus stop also pack with people, chase to get in the bus when bus stop by. But, all these is not a problem to me, lucky me..hehe....where ever you go, you have to adopt to it, else, stay at the own sand. My life is always change, enjoy it while living.
For the history, we successfully march into Quarter final. Our opponent is last year 2nd runner's up, Dell. We change a bit on our line up, first match, the responsible carry by Teck Chai and Kok Sing, deliver well the first set, and set to deliver the starting point for us, but the nerve in Kok Sing at the crucial point in 2nd set, down from 14-18 and chase until 20-18, just a point to close the game, fail to deliver at last, losing in rubber set. We losing 0-1. 2nd match, Dell has their strongest pair, easily weck Hsiao Seong and Theng Hoo, in straight set. We are losing 0-2. 3rd match, the pair which deliver everytime they go into the court this year, Teng Chow and Chee Tiong, despite carry the big pressure, win or die, do well to win in rubber set, 21-16, 10-21, 21-16. We are back in business, 1-2. 4th match, the pair that gain back their confident, Kok Heng and Kwang Sing, won the match easily in straight set, pulling back the point to 2-2. We level the point. The last match, do or die, Kim Hock and Pak Khong, carry our flag, go on with the winning start, 21-19. 2nd game, the winning point almost arrive, holding their opponent in 20-18, fail to get the final point that can send us to semi final, and we lost in rubber set. 2-3, we lost to Dell, and have to pack home. A bit disappointed, as we lost to pressure. All of our player play well. Well done to everyone. Hope next year u all can go further. All the best. This year, I have achieve something, at least, win all 4 matches with Teng Chow. Last year we disappointed everyone, losing all 3 matches. Every stage is a learning stage. Hope our player can learn from this year and get another good result next year. This year we get the respect from Dell as well, as they mention we improve a lot.
The last match, and the most important match now, for us to get the quarter final ticket, is vs Robert Bosch. 以不变应万变, our highest spirit's pair, deliver both point for the last 2 days, Teng Chow and I, hope to play the game with Robert Bosch's top pair, Yit Teng and Kah Hean, and the final line up show we are granted our wish. Both of us know each other well, as we sparring together on Monday at permata court last time. I am quite nervous today, as the pressure is on for us to deliver the point. We lost the first game in a close fight, 19-21 (where I got >5 times service errors). The second game, I gain back the confident, and we win it 21-16. Final game, the heat is still on us, the spirit is so high, we win the match finally, at 21-12. A good start for us. 2nd match, Kim Hock and Pak Khong carry the responsible to win a point for us, forget about their lost to Renesas and play well today, winning the opponent in straight set, a big boost to them. Now we are 2-0 upfront, and a point is needed for us to qualify. 3rd match, Hsiao Seong and Theng Hoo have high spirit to deliver the point for us. They went in the court with no pressure, losing the first game in close fight, 19-21. They adjust their playing style and reduce their mistake, went on to win the 2nd and rubber set, in style. 3-0, we eventually qualify for quarter final. We need to finish off every match. 4th game, Kok Heng and Kwang Sing play well as well, and deliver the 4th point to us, in straight set. The last pair, Kok Sing and Teck Chai, making the perfect score for us, beating their opponent in straight set as well. 5-0, a score only appear in my dream in such a big tournament. We did it, kudos to all the team mate. However, 5-0 win does not make us move to the top of the group, we are second to Renesas. Quarter final will be play on Thursday, 29 November 2007. The second of the group need to draw for their opponent in quarter final, and we drawn to meet Dell, last year semi finalist. The heat is on, come to support us on 29 November 2007, 7pm at Bukit Dumbar international badminton hall.
Day 3 for the tournament and it is 2nd match for us, vs Agilent. Agilent has won over Robert Bosch 4-1 yesterday, and we lost to Renesas 1-4 yesterday. It is a to win match for us, to keep the hope on qualify to quarter final, as we are the only team in the group has no won any game. Teng Chow and I start as the first pair again, and we did not disappointed our team mate and fan, winning the game in straight set, 21-16, 21-13. Second match, Agilent has their strong pair, and we line Teong Soon and Kuen Soon (the Soon-Soon brother). As predicted and as we wish, we lost the tie easily in straight set too. the score tie in 1-1. 3rd match, our pair, Hsiao Seong ang Theng Hoo, going into the court with high spirit, winning the first game easily, but lost the 2nd game easily too. 3rd game, we are losing at first, 2-7, but we manage to level it at 14-14 and go in front holding the winning point at 20-17. The luck is not at our side and they level it at 20-20. I tell u, if u got heart attack, u better not to watch this game. The rally goes on, point by point, 21-21, 22-22, 23-23, and finally Agilent seal the game at 25-23. Close fight. 4th match, a win for us will light up our hope again, a lost then we will lost the tie to Agilent, and we need to depend on Agilent to beat Renesas for chance to qualify to quarter fina. Kok Heng and Kwang Sing, step in the court with a bit pressure and nervous, doing well to win the first game. The second game, chasing point by point, and fail at the last hurdle, losing 19-21. 3rd game, another nail bitting game, and this time we are in the losing side, tailing Agilent team 18-20. But the lanky Kok Heng and Kwang Sing, done a good job to level it. Another heart attack game. Both side is under pressure now, the point go up 1 by 1, for each team, and now it is 22-22. This time the luck is at our side, and we seal the victory 24-22. Now the tie is at 2-2. Crucial point at the crucial stage. The fifth match, and the final match, we are represented by Kok Sing and Teck Chai, done well to put the pressure on Agilent, and finally we win in straight set, closing the match at 3-2. We won finally, the first win in this year tournament and second win since our debut last year. We make the chance of everyone qualify to get the ticket to quarter final evenly. Who win the last match tomorrow, will qualify to quarter final. No dependance on other result. Today match is a gamble for us, as we split out 4 pairs, to form a first time partnership in tournament. The gamble paid off well. Thanks god....*=*
Day 2 for the tournament, and day 1 for our team, vs Renesas. We are in group D, together with Renesas, Agilent and Robert Bosch. Wong Meow Choo has her maiden champion in super series, maybe in major tournament, and I have my maiden win in FTZ also. Me and Teng Chow play in first double, winning the game in rubber set, 23-21, 12-21, 21-13. However, our team lost of the remaining 4 games, and the final score line is 1-4. Renesas successfully revenge on last year lost to us. We win them 3-2 last year. Tomorrow will be playing Agilent, hope will be a good day for us.
19 Nov 2007, pay a visit to Income Tax department at Penang Malay Chamber of Commerce, Beach Street, Penang, with Yew Teck, to claim back my money in IRB. IRB is at level 4, and we took the lift to the department. There was not much people, as it was not peak season. We took number, 12 number ahead of our number. There is 2 counter open for income tax related things. 12 number, we had to wait about 45 minutes there, which mean about 8 minutes per person. 1 day 8 hours of working, we assume full time working, 1 day can settle 60 person case per counter. Is this acceptable? Too slow for me. Nvm, it is my turn, and I wish to claim back my excess pay. Guess what, my file is at Seremban, and they cannot process my claim, I have to claim back at Seremban office. This is the thing I can't understand. We pay income tax to national government, why we can't claim back our excess pay at any branch office nationa wide? Same case go to close the banking account. Anyone can direct me to the answer? Ahdoi......
Today is a lucky day for me, maybe a reward for me, as I helping our badminton girl's team for the pairing. Dinner time, and Teck Yunn call May Fung (plying badminton) for dinner with Sudheesh, KP, Ai Ling, Roland and Yasmin. May Fung ask me around, and since I have not eaten anything, so I follow them. They go to GreenHall, an Indian Food Restaurant for dinner. The food is nice, and the great thing is, they got a very good music instrumentation environment, piano, gitar and drum, great music performing there. Hehe, the nice thing is always have dinner with boss, thanks KP for the meal.
